Well, I overcame my librarian's resistance to the idea of a user-written reference tool and signed up as an editor at WikiFur. This because I discovered that, in spite of several cross-references to it, they still had no article on Pegasus. So, they do now.

If anyone needs to correct my stuff, by all means do so or let me know and I'll fix it.

Interesting (and yay, wikanarchy! ahem).

I'm extremely fuzzy on my mythoi, but I seem to remember reading that Peg was leading a herd (implied: the only stallion in the herd?) at the point when Bel bridled him. Am I way out with that one? :)

I've run across that form of the story somewhere too, I think in some poetic version by someone like William Morris perhaps. But in the traditional sources, Bellerophon caught Pegasus at the spring of Pirene, in Corinth, when he came there alone to drink. He used a golden bridle provided by Athena, that had magical powers forcing the stallion to become tame.

I don't see any large reference publishers coming out with an Encyclopedia of Furry, so you and the other WikiFurriers can be forgiven. ;-)

That's just as well. If a large reference publisher like Gale or Greenwood did it, none of us would be able to afford it. It would cost more than two or three artist-built fursuits. ;P

Yeah, ain't THAT the truth. (And that's probably all I should say on that subject. <evil grin>)
