er... yes, the weather is very strange. It's still warm here, about 55 degrees F (13 C) and raining, but that won't last. They say we should have an inch of snow by morning, and it'll be well below freezing for a good week, it looks like.
I'm getting lots of entertainment at going to the National Weather Service site and looking at temperatures in Montana and North Dakota. It's -19 F in Dickinson, North Dakota at the moment. :)
I like it when there is ice fog on some really cold mornings if it gets burned off by the sun on an otherwise sunny day... Because you get a rainbow arc on each side of the sun in the morning, which lasts until noon. I've seen this about 3 times over the past 2 weeks. It has to be about -30C or colder for this to happen though. :-)
And yes I said -30C (which is -22F), not +30F. ;-)
Ah yes, the famous sun dogs. I've only seen that a couple of times in my life. We don't often get that kind of cold here, but I understand you see it more often in Canada, and of course the Alaskans know the sun dog very well.
