Wolf-pack meme

No, I'm no wolf. But I still had to post this because of the graphic. Sorta fits, I guess, since I have been a herd leader if not a pack leader.

You are the brave leader of your pack. You are
strong, fierce, and proud. You are fair to your
pack and are very protective of them. You trust
them with your life. Be careful, there are always
some wolves who will wish to strike you down
when you are weak and steal your position as
Alpha.
What position are u in your wolf pack?

Date: 2005-09-20 08:54 am (UTC)"Attack the babysitter", indeed :) That was a great part of Cable Guy, which was a remarkably disturbing movie, and not one to see "by surprise" when you're expecting lighthearted comedy as per Jim Carrey's more usual roles.
Maybe I'll go see what the other meme results are. That's us Coyotes, stickin' our nose in peoples' business ;) Besides, shiny pictures!

Date: 2005-09-20 08:54 am (UTC)I looked through other responses and think that Beta is probably the closest to my personality (at least as they described it). I can lead, but it's not my first inclincation except when I'm really needed. Besides, the more tricksterish responses yielded Omega, which is decidedly inaccurate for me :)
Whee, more sharing!

Date: 2005-09-20 10:14 am (UTC)Of course, there's a classical model in the hippogriff, which was fairly executed (or not, no pun intended) by the effects guys on the third Harry Potter movie. Horse's body and hooves, wolf's head and tail? I dunno.
While I'm inordinately fond of canids, and I adore your ears in that icon, the horse's head is such a thing of beauty to me that I'd hate to trade it off. Perhaps the hybrids would be more like Gryphons, with front and back halves. Some would have a horse's front and a wolf's rear, while others would be the opposite? This implies that the horse-headed types would be vegetarians, while the wolf-headed would be omnivore or carnivore, no?
*resists the urge to fondle your ears*
This will get more complicated still if we consider anthrowolf and anthrohorse as the parents. Chimerae. I think I spelled it right. :)
In any case, Fyrathe's ambition was to sprout wings herself, rather than to have hybrid pups.

Date: 2005-09-20 10:55 am (UTC)in bedon TV! It's not a bad thing, and I never meant to imply it. It's just not my usual approach. When it comes down to it, I like both ends of the leash ;)
Which might not have been what you were talking about at all, but it's what I thought of. That must say something about me, but exactly what is an exercise I'll leave to the reader (which it always is anyway).
Whee! Silliness!

Date: 2005-09-20 11:00 am (UTC)I was actually thinking of a truly hybridized visual, which would be tricky to pull off but might be done well. The sleek nobility of a horse's face combined with the binocular vision and toothy smile of a wolf... Yes, tricky, but a fascinating idea. Perhaps a shapeshifter caught between the two forms.... Or something ;)
Oh, and why resist? *Waggles ears in your general direction.*

Date: 2005-09-20 11:15 am (UTC)Toothy grins on horses... That reminds me of the cover illustration on a cheap pulp science fiction book I had back in the 60s. The story itself was blah, but the warhorses ridden by some of the characters were in fact carnivorous and venomous and had appropriate dentition for that aspiration. The one on the cover had his mouth open, displaying his startling fangs. Otherwise he looked like an ordinary horse. I don't recall the author or title, and I think the cover artist was uncredited alas. But that image has stuck with me so tightly that I actually surrendered to it and gave my Tapestries character a set of retractable fangs.

And I loves the lovins of a good rub.
Retractable fangs, eh? Very convenient!
