altivo: Plush horsey (plushie)
Sunny, dry, and coolish. On the way home this afternoon, I saw people cutting hay, turning hay, and even baling already.

Vet came today, pronounced all the ponies to be in good shape. They are certainly in good spirits and being gently affectionate. Tess is batting 1.000 on meeting me at the gate when I go for her. I'd like to think she's happy to see me, but I'm afraid it's just that she gets tired of the biting insects and wants to go back inside. Mosquitos are bad now, as might be expected after over two weeks of rain nearly every day. Flies are out in force too.

On the bright side, dragonflies, swallows, and bats are busy eating the insects, and soon we'll have fireflies too.

Catalpa trees are starting to bloom, including three of our own that Gary planted as little six inch high seedlings. They grow fast and tall, and are around twelve feet high now. Three others were started later and aren't quite ready to bloom.

Summer is really here now.
