altivo: Running Clydesdale (running clyde)
Snow. In spite of the growing anxiety and drama of the forecast over the last 24 hours, which usually is a harbinger of a total dud, I can see the forming storm clouds on the radar out over Iowa. The current prediction for my location is up to eight inches accumulating overnight, falling at rates as high as two inches per hour during the peak of the storm. That's really heavy snowfall. We'll see. I'm skeptical at the moment. Looks like we'll get something, but I doubt it will be that dramatic.

Gary went shopping at a notorious weird surplus store in Chicago today while chauffeuring his mom around. It's a place we used to visit often when we lived in the city, but I haven't been back in probably ten years. Anyway, he brought back two things: a set of glow-in-the-dark plastic sheep, and a flat pony. The sheep are apparently supposed to be assembled into a sort of mobile for a baby's room. They do glow in the dark, I tested them.

The flat pony is apparently a throw rug. You know how they used to make bears into rugs, with the preserved head still attached at one end? Well, this is a little throw rug made of plush fabric, with a horse tail on one end and a horse head on the other. It even has non-skid rubber bumps on the bottom side.

OK, time to go start up the woodstove, I think...
