altivo: The Clydesdale Librarian (Default)
This week has lasted forever, or at least a month. Next week will probably feel the same, with the boss gone and the attendant shift of some feeling of responsibility.

Vet called back today and talked to Gary. Two possibly interesting things. First is that the lab report from a previous large tumor that Simon had removed actually did show that it was malignant or at least precancerous. Somehow we weren't told this. The other is that they think a less invasive treatment involving an injection of prednisone may shrink the tumor and slow its growth. That may be worth a try, and should be less stressful for the pooch. He has been noticeably less active in the last year or two, more like the everpresent shaggy lump asleep on the floor somewhere, but he still comes looking for attention every so often. Compared to Sarah, he's incredibly patient and calm.

Boone County Fair tomorrow, hope to see Clydesdales. Sunday the Steam Threshing Bee at Sycamore, which has a huge junk flea market in it.

Gary is watching Lawrence of Arabia on DVD. I remember seeing it before and while it was interesting, it was also very unpleasant, so I'm not repeating the experience. Besides, I'm going to fall asleep soon.
