altivo: (rocking horse)
Well, the day was long and cluttered, the work wasn't so much. I did get network and PC maintenance done without having to dodge around other people, which is good. I did not get any cataloging done, since there were some horrendously large and slow Windows updates for some reason. Then my spinning study group, followed by barn chores (my day) including taking Tess out to play in the pasture again. She is still in the "look at me, dad" stage she gets every spring, where I turn her loose and she just has to show me how fast she can run and how agile she is at turning shy of the fence (or me.) I try not to show it, but every time she makes one of those tendon-wrenching turns I expect to hear a crunch and see her fall over squealing in pain. But she knows what she can do better than I do, and it never happens, thank goodness. The vet says she's overweight, so running should be good for her as long as she can stop when she wants to. The boys exercise each other to some degree, chasing and boxing. Tess doesn't get that because she refuses to get along with them peacefully and has to be kept in a separate pen or field. She apparently thinks they should respect her as "boss horse" and they don't have the concept, having lived amiably with just each other for so many years.

Gary's day was just as complex, as he went to school, then to his mom's so he could take her shopping and unclog a drain for her, and then came back home rather than staying at her place until the morning. Now we are debating whether to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox (arrived yesterday from Netflix) or just go to bed.
