Still no show
Feb. 21st, 2011 08:36 pmThey reinstated the winter weather advisory and have been blabbering all day about ice, freezing rain, sleet, and snow. We have seen nothing. Went as far as Crystal Lake this morning because Gary had a doctor appointment. Nothing weatherwise, other than strong winds and dark skies.
Now the radio is talking about crashes, spinouts and closed roads all over the place. Still nothing. I swear, people are crashing their cars because 1) they drive too fast, this is always true; and 2) they are always so busy yakking on their cell phones, or even texting, that they aren't paying attention to the road.
As for the weather service, the radar display on their website hasn't updated since 5 pm (going on 3 hours ago) so if they're basing their predictions on that stale data, no wonder they don't know what's going on. It's been evident for several years now that they have no windows in their bunkers and it never occurs to them to step outside and see what is actually happening. If their computer says it's snowing, then it's snowing (not.)
Weaving is progressing. Not fast enough, but at least it's moving when Red isn't trying to stick his muzzle into the loom. And I need to get back to it.
