Well, not really. Thinking about what to have for dinner, I looked in the deep freeze this morning and found, way at the bottom, a whole turkey breast. So I plunged it into cold water to thaw it out faster and popped it into the oven at 4 pm after seasoning as I would a complete turkey. It was done right on schedule, produced enough drippings for gravy, and was declared a success. Especially by the dogs, who were sniffing and drooling even before it came out of the oven. Plenty of leftovers, and much less mess than doing the whole turkey and stuffing thing. Roasting time was 2.5 hours in a covered pan, plus about 20 minutes to brown the outside. (It was really brown enough, but I like the crunchy bits.)

Jellied cranberries, mashed potatoes, asparagus and salad completed the meal. Gary and the dogs approved.

Some network rearrangements made back in January to better accommodate wireless for Gary's laptop left me with insufficient ports on the hub under my desk. It finally dawned on me this week that the hub in Gary's office, which was replaced in the same shift, is the same type and should stack with what I have. It did, leaving me with free ports and lots of blinky LEDs under my desk.

Not very warm today, but at least it was sunny. The boys, Asher in particular, have been lying in the sun whenever it's out this week, regardless of mud or temperature. Gary gets worried and thinks they look dead, but they always scramble to their feet if you go near them or just make a noise.
