Thundershowers

This is supposed to happen in June or July, not September. I begin to think we'll have no fall color this year, as that almost always requires a dry spell before the frost. Today we have had alternating periods of sun and blue sky with dark clouds and thunder. Fast but furious showers lasting perhaps five to ten minutes passed through several times.

Of course the witless pyromaniac neighbor has been cutting and burning brush again, so each shower would partly extinguish his fire, filling the entire neighborhood for about a mile in every direction with clouds of choking smoke. Overheard the neighbor on the other side saying something about "the bonfire" tonight, and suspect she's planning something of her own. It's football homecoming in town and she has several teen kids. Sigh.

Spent too much time reading Volle today, finishing it, and the two part story "The Prisoner's Release" which follows it. Must resist Pendant of Fortune until after some other things get done, but I don't want to.

Chores are done, if it wants to rain more now it can, though I guess we're expecting clear and chilly for the night.
