I've got a fever and a headache and I have to work until 8 tonight. Then I have to come back in the morning because I'm scheduled to teach a class and six people are coming some distance for that. I just want to go home to bed, but my backup for the evening is even sicker than I am. Yuck.

No, they don't. And I have no idea why that is, but you're right.

Well, at least it's only a half day, but I must give this two hour class in the morning, and then go home and do farm chores because Gary will be away until Friday. I'll manage somehow.

Well, mine is separate from hers. She got hers from her grandchildren while she was on vacation last week. Mine showed up before she got back, so it must be from a different source. Both Gary and I appear to have had two different bugs back to back. Since I don't usually deal with children at the library and mostly work in the technical services area, I blame him. XD

The boss's story is something, though. She had this week long vacation with her whole family, daughters, grandchildren, sons in law. Everyone came home sick. The kids ended up with two ear infections, an asthma attack, and a case of rotovirus. Two of the adults have pneumonia. At least two more have some dismal upper respiratory virus, and one has influenza. I conclude that we should use day care centers as secret weapons of biological warfare. Ship those two year olds off to Iran. [just kidding, but it would work]

Don't worry. I think pony viruses don't spread to kitty cats.

Yeah, kids tend to carry lots of germs around...

You'll make it.

It'd be better if Gary cooked something
tasty for you to have before bed.

*peers at Gary*

That was a nice thought, but Gary wasn't there to do it. Not his fault, he had a paid gig providing music for a dinner over in Barrington Hills. As it turned out, the hourly wage for the performing itself was good, but the extra time taken up in travel, waiting for them to start, and then waiting for them to get the check signed kinda made it not so great.

Normally when I get home at 8:30 on Wednesday he really does have something tasty ready to go on the table. This time, though, he didn't get home until 10 pm. He did call to tell me what was going on so I wouldn't worry, and I pulled out tasty leftovers from Monday. He made Chicken Porkolt with noodles on Monday. So I heated that and some soup and held it warm until he got home.

He's really being a sweetheart, though. He's had this same virus, is just a day or two ahead of me in getting over it. Today would have been my day for barn chores, but he did them for me while I was at work giving that presentation. He was gone to his mom's in Chicago when I got home, but the chores are done. All I have to do is feed everyone and put them to bed. I think I'll go to bed myself right now, and get up later to do that.

Soup sounds good. Easy too, maybe. I slept most of the afternoon. Just finished feeding all the outside gang and bedding them down, now I have to feed the dogs and myself. I wonder what canned soup we've got...

Clam chowder is good. I like both kinds, white and red. But I decided to have chicken instead. Even when your tummy is kinda unsettled, chicken usually is good. ;D
