Finishing the job
Sep. 23rd, 2009 10:22 pmThe nålbinding piece is completed. I finished the stitchwork last night, washed and blocked it this morning. Found three flaws that I repaired this evening once the work was mostly dry. By tomorrow it will be ready to hand in right on schedule. I'm pleased with the results for a first attempt.
Hay shortage alleviated for the moment. We got 60 bales from a source in Woodstock. These have more alfalfa in them than I'd like but they'll keep us covered until we can get grass hay from a new supplier in Wisconsin, just over the state line. They are willing to bring us full loads at a better price than anyone we could find right in our area. I'd be ready to pay them a mileage charge (it's 20 miles) but they said no need. I hope that works out. They do handle a high volume since they aggregate hay from smaller farms and retail it. Supposedly they took in 3000 bales just last week.
Time for sleep now that a couple of high stress deadlines are covered.
