1. How old will you be in five years?
63 years young.

2. Who did you spend at least two hours with today?
Today meaning since midnight? I slept with my mate, but he had to rush off to a performance before 7 am, so we didn't spend two conscious hours together.

3. How tall are you?
Almost exactly 6 feet if I stand up straight.

4. What do you look forward to most in the next six weeks?
Finishing some other tasks so I can start on my new fursuit in earnest.

5. What's the last movie you saw?
In the theater? WALL-E I think. I didn't care for it much. On video? Cars. It was OK but not exciting.

7. Who was the last person to call you?
My mate, last night, to tell me he was on the way back from Chicago.

Ford Dealer telling me my car was ready to pick up on Monday afternoon.

10. Do you prefer to call or text?
It depends on who and what.

Sleeping.

Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride probably.

18. Where is your favorite place to be?
Home with my mate and the dogs and horses.

19. Where is your least favorite place to be?
I dunno. It's been a long time since anywhere really made me uncomfortable. Maybe at work on a Wednesday night, because I hate working evening hours.

20. Where would you go if you could go anywhere?
Permanently? I might consider Canada, but only if my mate would go too. That's unlikely. Otherwise, it's fine right here.

21. Where do you think you'll be in 10 years?
Retired and worrying about money probably. Still living right here.

22. Do you tan or burn?
Both. I also freckle. Thanks, mom. ;D

23. What did you fear was going to get you at night as a child?
I don't remember being particularly afraid at night. We lived near a railroad yard then, and there were still steam locomotives being used, so I remember being a bit worried by the whistles in the distance but only until my dad told me what they were.

Probably something in a book, but I don't remember what.

Only one. It hasn't been turned on in weeks.

King size waterbed I bought in the late 1970s, with mirrors in the headboard and canopy. It's tacky, but I love it still.

Cheap Dell desktop and a collection of obsolete computers that I still use for various things.

28. Do you sleep with or without clothes on?

Snow, the woodstove, and snuggling indoors.

34. What do you like about the summer?
Birdsongs, walking in and outdoors without special clothing, thunderstorms, fresh tomatoes.

Anything but chocolate.

43. What is your favorite dessert?

Blackberry or strawberry if possible.

46. Do you like Chinese food?
Some of it, but I'm sensitive to the MSG.

47. Do you like coffee?
Properly made, I'll have a cup. I can't drink it without milk or cream in it or it upsets my digestion. Starbuck's is NOT properly made.

3 or 4

49. What do you drink in the morning?
Decaf coffee with milk and sugar, and usually some fruit juice.

51. Do you sleep on a certain side of the bed?
The side nearest the wall or farthest from the door, because my mate prefers to have me there. I dunno if he's being protective or wants to be first out the door if the house catches fire. ;p

52. Do you know how to play poker?
I know the rules but have never cared for the game.

53. Do you like to cuddle?
Absolutely. If I had to choose between being able to snuggle and kiss and having "real" sex several times a day, the cuddling would win easily.

54. Have you ever been to Canada?
Yes, Ontario many times, British Columbia once.

55. Do you have an addictive personality?
I don't believe anyone has ever admitted to being addicted to my personality...

56. Do you eat out or at home more often?

No, but I know several people with birthdays a day or two away from mine.

59. Do you want kids?
No, I never have.

60. Do you speak any other languages?
I read several with varying degrees of fluency. French I might still be able to speak understandably, but I haven't practiced in a long time.

No.

62. Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
Yes, once.

63. Do you prefer an ocean or a pool?
Either is nice, for different reasons.

64. Do you prefer a window seat or an aisle seats?
If this is about flying, I prefer neither. I haven't flown on commercial flights since about 1979.

65. Do you know how to drive stick?
That's the only thing I drive.

66. What is your favorite thing to spend money on?
Books, fiber hobby stuff, horse stuff.

67. Do you wear any jewelry 24/7?
Not 24/7, no. I like bracelets but they snag on things. I have a pierced ear but rarely remember to put anything in it. I have two or three horse-themed pendants that I wear once in while.

68. What is your favorite TV show?
None. I haven't watched commercial television in decades.

69. Can you roll your tongue?
In which direction? I can roll the sides up (most people can) but not down (fewer people can do that.)

70. Who is the funniest person you know?
Funny doesn't usually make much impression on me.

71. Do you sleep with stuffed animals?
Always. There are three horses and a bear in my bed right now.

72. What is the main ring tone on your phone?
A horse whinny (loud, so it's usually set to vibrate.)

73. Do you still have clothes from when you were little?
How little? There might be stuff in my closet from graduate school, but before that it would be worn out or too small.

74. What red object is closest to you right now?
Heh. A red pen on my desk. Second would be the cover of the booklet "Guidelines on subject access to individual works of fiction, drama, etc. 2nd edition." (I'm at work, obviously.)

75. Do you turn off the water while you brush your teeth?
Sometimes.

76. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Closed, so the cat doesn't crawl in there and go to sleep, getting locked in by accident in the morning.

77. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees?
Bees probably, because I have some experience with what to do. We used to keep bees here.

78. Do you flirt a lot?
Verbally sometimes. Online sometimes. I'm not attractive enough to be a real tease, though.

79. What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
No thanks. I'll have the salad.

80. What is your favorite food?
Home made pizza, probably, followed by many types of seafood.

81. Can you change the oil on a car?
Sure, but it's a messy, uncomfortable job and nowadays I feel guilty throwing the old oil away. I prefer to let someone do it who has better equipment and can recycle the oil.

82. Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?
Never. The only moving violation I ever got was in 1970 for riding a motorcycle without goggles or faceshield. (I did have a helmet on, but Michigan law required goggles or faceplate at speeds over 35 mph. I wasn't aware of that detail.)

83. Have you ever run out of gas?
Twice. Once with a motorcycle, once with an old VW bug.

84. What is your usual bedtime?
Almost always around 10:30 pm.

85. What was the last book you read?
Finished Kyell Gold's book Waterways just last night. I liked it a lot.

86. Do you read the newspaper?
Occasionally.

87. Do you have any magazine subscriptions?
I've let most of them run out. I still get QST with my membership in the ARRL (amateur radio.) I still subscribe to Handwoven and Spin-Off but they have recently undergone an editorial "makeover" and I may not renew again. I still receive John Lyons' Perfect Horse but the price has gone so high I'm not going to renew it again.

89. Do you watch soap operas?
Nope, real life is bad enough.

90. Do you dance in the car?
Um, no?

91. What radio station did you last listen to?
WNIU-FM, Rockford/Dekalb. (Classical music, very little talk.)

92. Who is in the picture frame closest to you?
My mate and my dog, taken in the "library" of our old house in Chicago. It's on my desk at work, in a frame he gave me that has bas-relief wolves around the edge.

93. What was the last note you scribbled on a piece of paper?
Keeping track of record numbers in the library catalog for a project I'm working on.

94. What is your favorite candle scent?
Plain beeswax. The stinky candles are obnoxious.

95. What is your favorite board game?
I used to like Monopoly, and Scrabble, but haven't played board games in years.

97. When was the last time you attended church?
Attended it seriously, as a religious practice? Spring of 1978. Over the holiday season in 2001, though, I volunteered to play flute with my mate's church choir. I enjoyed the music very much. But I wasn't really attending church in the sense of taking the service seriously.

98. Who was your favorite teacher in high school?
Oh gosh, that's a long time ago. The band director, Joe Remington, was a favorite, and he died of lung cancer a couple of years after I graduated. I also liked my science teachers and English teachers, because they encouraged me to go in my own directions and to be myself.

99. What is the longest you have ever camped out in a tent?
A week I think. The last time that long was during a hike from one end of Isle Royale to the other, with two friends. That was around 1980 I think.

100. Who was the last person to do something extra special for you?
My mate. He does thoughtful things frequently, probably more often than I do. [Bad pony, I know.]

Whew. That's about all the work-avoidance I can afford at the moment.

Nice to read :)

I can't say there was anything that surprised me that much except for you not liking chocolate ice cream. What's up with that? :P

Rex didn't tell me he won a scholarship...

I'm surprised you've missed the chocolate thing, as I tend to be pretty vocal about it. Chocolate does nothing for me. I have never understood people's fascination with it, let alone the addiction some acquire. It's just brown stuff to me, and usually too sugary. I tolerate it, but if they were giving it away for free on the other side of the street I wouldn't bother to cross over there.

In dairy products it seems particularly pointless to me when there are so many other good flavorings that can be used. This puts me in a small, resentful minority when I look at the selection of available ice creams usually, since more than half of them will be some variation on chocolate. Out of the usual offerings, I'm more likely to choose a sherbet or perhaps peppermint.
