Mostly mundane, cleaning barns, doing dishes, grocery shopping. I did get some reading and a little knitting done, and have an experimental baked mostaccioli dish in the oven, but no great things were accomplished.

Turned in our counts for Cornell's backyard bird census. They do it every year at mid-February. Our counts were generally down from last year, but I got a couple of things that were out of the ordinary. One was a tufted titmouse, who returned to the feeders several times this morning. I checked him out with binoculars to be absolutely sure, and that's what he was. Though the species should be in our area, we rarely see them, and they are attractive little birds.

The other was a V of Canada geese flying overhead. I counted 32 of them. We see geese frequently in spring, summer, and fall, but not so often in Winter and rarely in such numbers.

Reading a very funny book, but I'll save that discussion until I finish it. Back to work tomorrow, sigh. At least it's only a four day week now.

Yay for a less stressful day. I could use a day off myself, too. :P

*hugs*

*hugs back* Well, I dunno about "less stressful" but it was different anyway.

It is good to break out of the mould every now and then. :)

It's a cute tiny little bird that resembles neither a mouse nor a tit. Who knows how birds get their names anyway.

I'm surprised the puritans allowed that name ;)

Aww what a nice little bird....I wonder how many would fit in a pie.

It's so tiny you'd need a lot of them to make a pie, especially if you took the feathers off. I doubt the puritans ever saw one, because back then they were only found way south. They've been creeping northward just in the late 20th century.
