Have you encountered the website http://100words.com/ ? It seems similar to the 750words.com site except for the obvious difference, although there may be more structure to it—e.g., you write in month-long batches, and if you miss more than one day I think they rap your knuckles or something. I've thought it might be useful if one wanted to write on a particular topic for a month.
