Desk buried. Network stuff broken. Mailbox stuffed. The usual.

Stayed a little late, came home and took Gary out for dinner since he was feeling stressed too. Being a full time graduate student plus primary care for his mom is really too much pressure for him.

Went to get some groceries since I wasn't home to do that this weekend. Then got the minimal amount of writing done to keep from losing any more ground. I need more, though.

Hay supposed to come tomorrow, last load for the year and only half the size of the last. We'll have to be up really early for that.

"You had the audacity to take time off work! Don't blame us. Blame those pesky unions for demanding the end of indentured servitude." ;)

I hope you were able to get enough sleep last night to distress adequately. I am finding sleep more and more invaluable as I get older. Six hours a night is the bare minimum for me these days.

I generally need about seven. Trying to squeeze out the word count for NaNo is cutting into that now.

More than six hours is still a bit of a luxury for me. I'm usually asleep by midnight and up by 5:00. But on the weekends, anyone who dares wake me up before 8:00 will usually find themselves on the receiving end of my grumpiness.

*hugs the horse*
Hope work lets you relax for MFF! It will be good to see you again ^_^

Heh. Sleeping in the morning hasn't happened to me since I was a teenager, unless I'm sick. When I need more sleep it manifests as going to bed early. I probably only see midnight three or four times a year. Even elevenses is rare, unless I'm already in bed and stayed awake reading. Typically I'm asleep by 10:30 or not much after and up by 5:30, even in winter.

Work would let me take more time off, I have a pile of vacation left still. But I won't be at MFF. The hotel and the location did not suit me at all last year, and the atmosphere of the whole con seems to have changed in a direction I didn't care for. Too big, too loud, too frantic, and too much like AC or FC, which I would never attend.

Horses like quiet and gentleness. :)

I had already opted out of sponsorship for this year, but when I saw how fast the hotel rooms filled up nearly ten months before the con, I knew it was grown beyond my tolerances.

Not all horses like quiet and gentleness....and perhaps you'll remember that last bit after you dumped me in the horse trough.

Ah, but dumping you in the horse trough restored the quiet and gentle atmosphere around here, at least for a while. ;p
