But I suspect again it was a comparison to the average adult male shopper, who is likely to carry out just a case of beer, a frozen pizza, and snacks like pretzels
*chuckle* I plead guilty to the lesser charge of misdemeanor adult single male grocery shopping, in that I do try to minimize the number of frozen dinners/pizzas I buy (but I still end up eating at least one or two frozen entrees in an average week, just because they're quick and convenient and, especially during the heat wave last week, provide dinner when it's way too hot to cook), I do try to get some fresh food, and I never (well, hardly ever) have beer. ;-)
Real cooking is something I'm planning on doing more of when I get into my new place. I know I've mentioned elsewhere that I often find it hard to motivate myself to cook real meals when I'm cooking for just myself. Part of that lack of motivation in my current apartment is a near total absence of useful working space in the kitchen area. There are two small counter tops - one near the only electrical outlet, so that's where my microwave resides, and a 24x24 inch counter top between the stove and refrigerator. So, if I'd want to use something like a slow cooker (and I've seen crock pot recipes that I'd love to try), I'd either have to move the microwave for the duration or run an extension cord around the stove to reach the outlet. Or set the crock pot in the sink. :-P
But the new place has a nicely sized kitchen with lots of counter space, and, even more importantly, plenty of cabinet space. Just 3 weeks to go, give or take a few days...
