Break through

Our big dufus-pooch Red has finally come around enough to snuggle. He's been very friendly all along, but somehow reluctant to ask for affection. I could be sitting on one end of the sofa and he would very tentatively climb up on it with me, but at the far end.

Tonight we decided to watch an old movie and he got up on the sofa between us. That didn't leave a lot of room for him to be standoffish though. Before long he had his head in Gary's lap, and stayed that way for the better part of an hour. This is a milestone, and represents the kind of bonding I hoped to see.

We had no new snow today. I'm afraid it's all getting dumped on the east coast now. You folks out there be careful, and stay home if you can.

Family movie night with the dawggie, d'aww! :) Was Simon watching too? Where was he situated?

Simon sleeps through movies, something that I am also prone to do so I can't criticize him for it. He was on the floor in front of the television.
