Steam table weather
Aug. 6th, 2011 10:08 pmThat's what it feels like, and especially with the A/C out. We took the exterior compressor housing apart today. Did find a couple of frayed (but not broken) wires, clearly chewed on by mice. Fixed those, and the unit started back up. Once. Now it's out again. I guess an expensive service call is in order, and soon.
Not that we mind open windows and listening to birds and insects. It would be real pleasant if the air were dry and there were some breeze.
Created fairly good duplicates of UNIX/Linux utilities head, tail, and wc this morning. I use those a lot, and now I have them available on the Amiga environment as well. I also type "ls" to get directory listings. I had never realized until yesterday that a directory display very much like that of ls is really available on the Amiga. The command is "list nohead sort name" which i've now aliased to "ls".
I did let Tess out into the pasture for a couple of hours. She came back just covered with tiny mosquitoes who were determined to suck her dry.
And I just fell asleep while typing and filled a whole page with 'vvvvvvvvvv..." before realizing it. Time for bed, I guess. *picks up electric fan and carries it to the bedroom*
