Schedule shift

Gary's fall class schedule forces me into a split shift on Wednesdays, as if those weren't bad enough already. Today was the first one. Going to work at 8 is normal for other days, so that was no problem. Coming home at 1:30 and going back from 5:00 to 8:00 pm was tricky though. Necessary, because sheep and horses have to be fed on a reasonable schedule, and once the weather deteriorates, they will need to be under a roof by sunset too. They all thought it was weird when I put them in and fed them at 4 pm, but they'll get used to it eventually. That becomes normal for every day by the time December gets here.

Interesting day. Several aftershocks in both Virginia and Colorado. Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple, and people act as if it's the end of the world. I guess most of 'em are too young to remember that he did it once before, and stayed away for ten years. During that time, he was starting and running NeXT, which was eventually bought up by Apple, paving the way for him to return to the helm there.

And I have to go to bed. Too long a day.
