I had similar reactions when I was cataloging dozens of books for the library. I learned to let a lot of "might be interesting" items slide past, and only added the "must read now" titles to my reading list. Most of those did get read eventually. A few are still on that "to read" list I mentioned above.
I only need to finish four more to make my quota of 50 now. That should be easy.
