This is more like the kind of sentence you'd see in a show like Judging Amy. I agree with it, though. Very good example, and a good way of making him respect horses a bit more.
Well actually, I think the more appropriate punishment would have been a good swift kick from the horse in question. Too bad it was apparently well-behaved.
