Gary
Spear carrier

Name Origin: English (actually, AngloSaxon or Teutonic)
Number of Syllables: 2.00
Gender: Male

More interesting facts about the name Gary:

Lucky Number: 6
Ruling Planet: Venus
Element: Earth
Primary Color: Indigo
Traits: Gentle and refined; pleasant and sociable. Usually good looking. Natural peacemaker; able to soothe ruffled feelings. Often experiences difficulties in financial fields. Excellent as a host or hostess. Friendly and agreeable.

I have no idea about the numerology part. Otherwise pretty accurate, except that I'm not convinced it means 'spear carrier'. It's a tossup whether Gary is diminutive of 'Gareth' ('bespeared' or 'spear bearer') or 'Garth' ('a garden' or 'gardener').

As opposed to 2.01 or 1.99 syllables, I suppose.

I wondered about that too. Probably an artifact of not properly defining some field as an integer?

Though, I guess, you could speak of a half-syllable in the case of some languages that use 'n' or 'z' as a vowel, or have really broad diphthongs. ;)

Maybe all people with two-syllable names are the same? :)

I woudl assume that! Anywho, after seeing that, I closed the window to that site, figuring it was going to be more of the same "facts".

Not quite. But this confirms my suspicion about what they are doing.

They are reducing the name to a single digit using numerology. Then they use the result to select the rest of the "facts". Since Robert and Gary both come out to 6, the rest is the same.

Which doesn't mean it's wrong. But they just hit it lucky. ;) I'd say most of those "facts" are fairly accurate for both of us.

Oh, and the "...men are from Mars" thing is pop psychology no better than horoscopes or numerology. If the traits assigned to males and females in that popular work are true, it's because society has trained them in, not because they are inherent in any particular way.

I've watched this for many years because I wanted to figure out how my younger brother (who is NOT gay) and I both came out so different from the usual American male stereotypes, and I'm convinced it is about 90% in the socialization. My elder brother was a classic case of the American male raised in the 50s, sexist, jingoist, the whole nine yards. I came out just the opposite, almost certainly because my folks tried to correct their mistakes and overdid it. There was an eight year gap, so they had time to make observations and say "Ooops!"
