Directed to me and others by [livejournal.com profile] shadowtxhorse and I'm responding because I'm mildly interested and because I really do like him. :)
  1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video: about 200 or so, collection shared with my mate though. And I'm including VHS, though I'm not sure whether that is intended or just DVD.
  2. The last film I bought: Bambi special edition, and Balto 3, Wings of Change purchased at the same time.
  3. The last film I watched: The Mouse That Roared.
  4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
    • The Dark Crystal
    • Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmaron
    • The Desk Set
    • Balto
    • Son of the Sheik (Yes, the silent film with Rudolph Valentino)
  5. Here I am supposed to name five more people to answer these same questions but I decline to do so. After doing the last one that worked this way, I thought about it and realized how much it resembled a chain letter, so no. But anyone who cares to pick this up, by all means, it's yours.

Footnote: I chose to name films that I actually have watched repeatedly. These do happen to have major meaning to me, but there are others with equal or greater meaning that I watch less often. For one thing, they are very long and I seldom have that much time that I can stay awake and watch. One of those is Wings first Academy Award for best picture and the only silent ever to win that. I heartily recommend it if you haven't seen it. Another is the longish musical Paint Your Wagon, and yet another is How the West was Won, and another Last of the Mohicans (the one with Daniel Day Lewis). There are more...

Yeh. For a story that would earn a PG rating even today, there was an awful lot of rocking going on. Wagons, beds, haystacks, cabins, hotel-rooms... :)

Yeah and Lee Marvin is just great in his role. "Hello Reverand, welcome to Hell!" :)

Uh oh. I thought you "usually consciously avoid the possessive pronoun because [you] don't like the implication of ownership that it conveys" when talking about your mate. :-)
Not being picky, sorry, its just that some things stick in my mind.

And so I do. But when you're tired, sometimes things slip through. Being politically correct is hard even when everyone else is on the same track, but when your track is different, as mine often is, it can be difficult to avoid slipping up at least once in a while.

I also find that here (unlike some other places) my usages are frequently misinterpreted and it seems to be necessary to adopt the lingua franca sometimes to avoid misunderstanding.

*nods* I think a flexible definition of the word "my" comes in handy sometimes.
