Favorite books meme answers
May. 14th, 2005 09:24 pmWell,
calydor reminded me that I should post the answers to the first lines that no one got. There were only three:
1. This is from The Pride of Chanur by C. J. Cherryh. A book with furry aliens. Or are they alien furries? Well anyway, I recommend it as well as the sequels.
8. This is Exile's Honor by Mercedes Lackey, and one of the better of her Valdemar books in my opinion. It also is the first line of the first story in Horse Fantastic, a collection of equine-related stories edited by Martin and Rosalind Greenberg, since the opening of Lackey's book appeared there as a short story.
11. Dancers of Arun by Elizabeth A. Lynn, an author who publishes very sparingly and I wish she'd do more.
Note:
ruwhei did get the first and last, though she insisted that she had "cheated" so she never claimed her credits. And I'm a bit surprised that no one identified the Lackey.
