This is mutated from one about movies, and since I approve of books far more than I do films, I'm pleased to replicate it. Taken from [livejournal.com profile] eclective and [livejournal.com profile] ursulav:

1. Number of books you own:
Uncounted but certainly in excess of a thousand, quite probably over two thousand. Collection merged with that of my life partner and mate.

2. The last book you bought:
Two ordered on the same day, not yet received: The Willows and Beyond by William Horwood, and Triton by Samuel R. Delany.

3. The last book you read:
Demon by John Varley (re-reading.)

4. Five books that mean a lot to you:
Hard to name just five, but these are in the top 20 or so.
  • The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin
  • Willow Song by Richard Amory
  • The Silmarillion by J. R. R. Tolkien
  • The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
  • The Heritage of Hastur by Marion Zimmer Bradley

5. Tag five people and have them fill this out:
Nope. I will encourage my friends to do this one, because I find it very interesting to know what people read and like to read, but no more chain-letter memes.

Yeah, I liked that one. I'm looking forward to the sequel. It obviously will have one.

The idea of the dragon's egg looking like a pretty stone that lies around for centuries until it comes in contact with the right person who will be the dragon rider... That was really cool.
