Gryphon Banner
You're a gryphon. You're very powerful without
needing to brag about it. Creativity is one of
your strong suits. Your outward personality may
change drastically according to your mood,
which is not always a good thing. You're a
loyal guardian when you choose to be and you're
aligned towards *good*.

What mythical beast are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

I'm not entirely confident of these results. Too many questions forced you to choose one answer where several might be acceptable and none were perfect. The music part didn't give me trouble for a change, though I heard at least one complaint that it was too limited.

Hmmm, well this blows Chibi's comment about all of his equine furiends getting a pegasus as a result.

Just goes to reinforce one undeniable fact:

Tivo is enigmatic.

That's all right, I usually keep myself wrapped up in a conundrum so no one realizes it.

Hay, you two need to stop using these big words. Makes this dumb blonde stallion have to pull out his dictionary. :)

What you get for living so far south. I think IQ is influenced by latitude myself. The average IQ rises in direct proportion to the latitude. ;P

*snorts and stomps his hoof*

Did you just call me a 'hick'?

Remind me to hunt you down and give you a nice hoof shaped tatoo. :)

Actually, no. Lots of people consider me a 'hick' since I don't like cities and prefer to live away from them. I called you a 'southrunner'. Y'all know, from those states where they still call it The War Between the States instead of the Civil War. And keep flying that rebel flag as if it hadn't been over for 140 years now.

*chuckles* Hmmm, I think I still have a rebel flag around here somewhere. Goes well with my Tennessee flag that was stolen off of the top of the Capital building....wait...did I say that out loud? And no..I didn't steal it but it was rumored to have been by the person I got it from.

What was it I was telling a friend the other day....you have to love the southern states...where a man can get away with sex with his cousin but not with.....I think you can fill in the blank there without me spelling it out for you. :)

Now I'm reminded of that old Firesign Theatre routine about The HillBillies, and all the wonderful things they brought to our culture. Stuff like incest, bad teeth, shotgun weddings, and spittoons. ;P

Of course, those are Appalachians rather than just Southerners. But Tennessee, Virginia, and the Carolinas qualify under both headings.

I like cornbread and even grits. Hush puppies are good now and then. But Southern politics and culture? No thanks.

*chuckles and nods*

I have to agree about the politics and some aspects of the culture. You gotta love living in the Bible Belt.

Grits, cornbread and hushpuppies....well there is hope for you yet northern stallion. :P

Ponder this though. There was a news story some months ago about opening a military type academy somewhere south of me in Tennessee I believe it was. They were going to operate under the philosophy of teaching Southern values and traditions. I can't recall all the details but they made it sound as if they were going to teach and instill into their pupils the same values that those of the Confederacy would have had. Scarey isn't it?

Well, I suppose this administration would try to do its best to back pedal on the court decisions that forced such academies to accept female students and so forth. But I'm not particularly surprised. The extreme right has been gaining boldness and power all over the country.

In my area the proliferation of "home schooling" which usually amounts to "self taught ignorance" is beyond belief. The reason for doing it is usually because they don't want anyone to teach their kids about evolution. Like you can make it go away by pretending it doesn't exist. I guess that's the standard Bush administration approach to everything. If he plays golf and pretends Katrina never happened, it will all go away.

Hmm, I always thought that stood for (S)urf (I)nduced (N)eurological (D)isorders. But since you live at a higher latitude than I do, I guess you must be right. ;P

Is that actually true? Aren't we dealing in terms of the Northern Hemisphere? So if this theory is constant in nature, does that mean that that once you move past the equator and into the Southern Hemisphere when latitude reverses and increases by moving south, you would find those who live in the north to have a lower IQ than those who live further south? ;)

I would not be surprised if that is true for the U.S. though.

And I say 'yay' for big words! ;)

Is it actually true? I doubt it.

Does it seem true? Sometimes. And yes, it applies to the southern hemisphere in the same way. So Aussies and Kiwis are smarter than, say, Indonesians. Or South Africans are smarter than Rhodesians.

Of course I meant it to be a silly stereotype. But there's a small kernel of truth to it. Not really intelligence, but it takes more complex planning and effort to survive at colder latitudes. The theory runs that societies who succeed there will as a result be more complex and resilient. That doesn't apply so much to individuals as to cultures and social structures, though.
