Mythical beast meme

You're a gryphon. You're very powerful without
needing to brag about it. Creativity is one of
your strong suits. Your outward personality may
change drastically according to your mood,
which is not always a good thing. You're a
loyal guardian when you choose to be and you're
aligned towards *good*.
What mythical beast are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
I'm not entirely confident of these results. Too many questions forced you to choose one answer where several might be acceptable and none were perfect. The music part didn't give me trouble for a change, though I heard at least one complaint that it was too limited.

I like cornbread and even grits. Hush puppies are good now and then. But Southern politics and culture? No thanks.

Date: 2005-09-15 09:39 am (UTC)I have to agree about the politics and some aspects of the culture. You gotta love living in the Bible Belt.
Grits, cornbread and hushpuppies....well there is hope for you yet northern stallion. :P
Ponder this though. There was a news story some months ago about opening a military type academy somewhere south of me in Tennessee I believe it was. They were going to operate under the philosophy of teaching Southern values and traditions. I can't recall all the details but they made it sound as if they were going to teach and instill into their pupils the same values that those of the Confederacy would have had. Scarey isn't it?

Date: 2005-09-16 08:12 am (UTC)In my area the proliferation of "home schooling" which usually amounts to "self taught ignorance" is beyond belief. The reason for doing it is usually because they don't want anyone to teach their kids about evolution. Like you can make it go away by pretending it doesn't exist. I guess that's the standard Bush administration approach to everything. If he plays golf and pretends Katrina never happened, it will all go away.

Date: 2005-09-15 03:39 am (UTC)I would not be surprised if that is true for the U.S. though.
And I say 'yay' for big words! ;)

Date: 2005-09-15 04:01 am (UTC)Does it seem true? Sometimes. And yes, it applies to the southern hemisphere in the same way. So Aussies and Kiwis are smarter than, say, Indonesians. Or South Africans are smarter than Rhodesians.
Of course I meant it to be a silly stereotype. But there's a small kernel of truth to it. Not really intelligence, but it takes more complex planning and effort to survive at colder latitudes. The theory runs that societies who succeed there will as a result be more complex and resilient. That doesn't apply so much to individuals as to cultures and social structures, though.
