altivo: 'Tivo as a plush toy (Miktar's plushie)

From multiple friends, and even though I did something similar just a couple of weeks ago. This is a different list of my interests.

  1. books:
Well... anyone who doesn't love a good book, or who doesn't feel excitement looking at a bookstore or a library, is too alien for me to understand them very well. This has always been true, and has nothing to do with my occupation...
  2. discworld:
Terry Pratchett, either you like his stuff or you don't. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground, nor do there seem to be late conversions. I like, and think he's been improving of late.
  3. furry art:
Well, yeah. And it doesn't have to be pr0n either. I've loved the anthro animals in the comics ever since I first began to read, early, at around age 4. A good animated film with animals (Balto, Spirit, Brother Bear) or a clever comic strip (Uncle Scrooge, Calvin and Hobbes, Unicornography, Faux Pas) can distract me even from ice cream or sex.
  4. inflatables:
Largely an RP interest in this one. I love the fantasy play that some inflatophiles develop online. In real life, though, I prefer plush.
  5. malacandra:
I am not a Christian, and I am not an indiscriminate fan of C. S. Lewis. But the furry races he created for his novel Out of the Silent Planet are just too murry for words. Malacandra is of course the natives' name for that planet.
  6. otherkin:
I've often wanted to be able to dissociate myself from the human race. This is a group who have found a way to do it. Do I fit in? Probably not, but it still intrigues me.
  7. railroads:
I hate flying on commercial airplanes. Traveling by rail even in today's much stripped down versions of passenger trains much more suits my personality and my laid back style. I yearn for the varnish of the early 20th century, though.
  8. shamanism:
I believe there is more to reality than what we can detect with our physical senses. Shamanistic practices provide means of entry to other forms of vision and understanding.
  9. thomas burnett swann:
A superb writer of furry fiction based in classical myth. Novels about centaurs, minotaurs, harpies, talking bears, and so forth, popular back in the 1960s and nearly forgotten now.
  10. writing:
Obviously, I think. I've actually published a few things and been paid for them. Not richly, but in real money. :)

As for 1. Well...you know that feeling when
you've been in a great church? A monestary that
holds itself with a silence and reverence, yet
has beauty and a scent of paper? The kind of
place you feel you could find answers, true
enlightenment, or just a moment of peace?

Thats what libraries are to me.
