Just something that's been rattling around in this horsebrain for a while. I've enjoyed [livejournal.com profile] corelog's weekly talk show broadcasts on Radio Furtopia (Sunday evenings, 7-8 pm Pacific, 10-11 pm Eastern) a whole lot. And one or two of my friends have bugged me on and off about why I don't have VoIP capabilities, like Skype, so they can hear what I sound like. Well, I don't think I sound that exciting, but in any case, VoIP is simply not possible here where a 38 Kb dialup connection is the best we can get. However, I've been watching the growth of podcasting with considerable interest.

Now that I have a new PC myself, one that handles audio processing very smoothly indeed, it would be entirely feasible for me to try podcasting. I'm considering something along the lines of furry literature discussions, occasionally touching on music or other related arts like theatre. Now I don't have a large enough ego to think that anyone wants to listen to me just blathering away like some self-appointed expert, so I'd be soliciting comments via e-mail or LJ, and reading and responding to them as part of the format. Rather like an old-fashioned international short wave program, the listener's mailbag or something, but on this topic of furry art and literature.

I've hunted through the catalogs of podcasts and found very little that is furry related, so I think there might be a place for this. The question is, would I have any listeners or correspondents? I'd want to limit each 'cast to 10 or 15 minutes, and put out a new one weekly. I've found the place that I can host and syndicate them in Ourmedia.org and I think I have or can get together the necessary hardware and software.

Any interest? Negative or positive thoughts?

Well, let me be the first then to say that it could prove interesting in it's own right. How wide the general interest would be at first is arguable, of course, as it is with many things. I'd say go for it, though, see where it leads.

Still poking at the idea. But thanks for the encouragement.

I have positive thoughts. Give it a try. Point me towards it. I can be a net ninny.

But, but... what big eyes you have. And what sharp teeth...

I'll let you know when and if it happens. ;)

Sounds interesting! I don't know much about furry lit., but you could count on me to be an avid listener, at least. :D And I'd even probably throw in a comment every now and again.

Well, as if you had time to do any extra reading just now. I'm pretty sure I will try this though, so I'll be sure to let you know.
