As promised a few days back, here are some photos of this year's foliage color. I think it has peaked for the year, after two hard frosts that left most of the garden a wreck. Only the turnip, beets, and lettuce are still going strong. Squash vines and tomatoes were reduced to a pile of limp rags.

This year's color is subtle, but after two hard frosts, quite strong. The oak in the foreground often turns plain brown, but not this time.

Coming from the woodlot into the pasture. Pastel colors are this year's theme, it appears.

Well, not all pastels, maybe. Oaks, cherries, and hickories make a riot of color.

My horse is getting ready for winter by growing lots of fuzzy coat. Wish I were as photogenic as she always seems to be.

For some odd reason, we have twenty-something degree heat here. I just expect the leaves to drop without turning brown at all. ;)
