Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Wierd Habits of Yourself" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their five weird haabits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and list their names.

1. I normally go to bed before 9:30 pm and get up before 5:00 am. At least among the people I know here on LJ, that's pretty unusual.

2. I talk to plush toys (and am not embarrassed about it.) I usually sleep with several (two wolves, a bear, and now a pony are permanent, others vary.)

3. I talk to myself (not unusual) in other languages (more unusual) or even a made up language of my own (very unusual, nutty even.)

4. I take cream and sugar in coffee, but neither in tea. I prefer to let coffee cool to lukewarm before drinking it, and it drives me crazy in restaurants that they always want to refill the cup, making it too hot to drink again.

5. I like to let my horse lick my face, neck, and hands. (She seems to like that too, probably for the salt.)

No, I won't tag anyone. I disapprove of that forced method of spreading a meme. If you are so inclined, feel free to adopt the meme and fulfill it.

Happy New Year, everyone. *goes off to bed, BEFORE midnight: weird habit number 6*

In my usual style of taking things way out of context, let's mess up weird habit #2 and say:

I knew it! You ARE sleeping with a horse!

Have a good 2006, Tivo.

New development. First time I've had a plush horse large enough for that. The really big one is almost too large. But the bay with the white blaze (now named Oreo) is a nice size and very comfortable.

Yes, I'm sleeping with him. Just as I've slept with dogs and cats on the bed for years. Nothing else is implied.

I just got the email notify on this one. Looks like there're still some clogged messages.

I sorta figured you'd be on a similar schedule. ;)

Sleeping with a horse

Dear Rider,

I also talk to my plushies, not embarrassed about it, and sleep with a pony (might be the same kind you do).

Of course little Pete the Horse talks back, particularly if I accidentally press his tummy. "Hi, I'm Pete the Horse. WHINNNY. WHINNNY. Come on, let's have some fun". Grin.

Take cream and sugar in my coffee but only sugar in my tea, and do not like it hot but not cold.

Let my puppy and any horse that wants to lick my face, neck and hands.

Go to bed before 9:30 pm and get up before 5:00 am.

Your loyal and trusting mount,
Imperator

Ah yes. I tend to forget that you are lurking out there reading these, since you don't comment very often. We do have many things in common. :)

I should post a photo of Oreo by himself. He's smaller than your plushie Thunder, but very nicely designed. You can't see much except his head in that group photo I posted a few days ago.

The big carousel horsey is sooo large and firm that he's suitable to lean on with my back against him for reading and stuff. That means he's rather like a real horse, not flexible enough to cuddle well. Your own delightful conformability (which I assume is due to being inflatable at will) makes you very special indeed. Happy new year. ;)

Weird habit #2 is one that I share with you, although I don't sleep with that many plushies or sleep with them consistantly. Every now and then I take one of my horsies to bed and cuddle with 'em... and once in a while, I, um, well, do other things with them. *blushes*

I think weird habit #3 is really cool. I wish I could do that! ;)

And weird habit #5 isn't weird to me at all...but then again, you know how I am with horses so...

At times I've had as many as 20 plushies that were regular occupants of the bed with me. Right now there's a huge pile on the floor all snuggled together next to the bed. It was getting impractical. ;) My mate needs some room, and he has his own favorites too. One of the dogs and two cats are typically on the bed most of the night as well. Fortunately, it's a king size.

As for "doing other things" well, to tell the truth, it was a possibility that had never even occurred to me until quite recently. See how innocent I really am?

The talking to oneself thing is kind of a silly affectation if anyone is around to hear it. I usually manage to keep it only for times when no one will hear me except maybe the plushies.

As for #5, well, yes, I imagine so. You and I aren't alone, though some people have seen it and warned me that one day a horse will bite my ear off. It's true that they sometimes get pretty rough with each other and we shouldn't let them start to think of us as another horse. That can get dangerous. When I hold Tess' head for the farrier to work on her feet, she licks and nibbles at my chest continuously so that I often end up sopping wet. One time he did something she didn't like and she bit me pretty hard. Made a big bruise that lasted a while.

Not tagging is cheating! ;)

My friend's son has his own made up language and "swears" at video games in this language. That's kind of the same thing, isn't it? Since swearing gamers are usually swearing at their own performance (unless the game just plain sucks)...

People take cream in tea? :o

People take cream in tea?

They do, yes. More common in Europe than in the US, I think, but then tea drinking is more common over there.

I don't usually even put sugar or honey in my tea. But coffee I can't take black. Eeww.

As for what is or is not weird behavior for gamers, I just wouldn't know. They are more exotic to me than ring tailed lemurs or pygmy golden marmosets. :)

I was also going to mention weird # 3... I THINK to myself constantly but not really talk out loud? could qualify.

The stream of consciousness. I think we all have that. One of the big questions is whether non-humans have anything like it.

I don't think its a question... I have seen my smarter dogs plan things out in their minds and later go do it when I am not watching...

Just /five/?

XD

1. I like fresh veggies. I've been known to stalk 24 hour markets
for some.
2. I fold my underwear. I blame Fort Dix.
3. I have a hard time /wearing/ underwear. c.c
4. I drive either very slow so people make friendly
"gestrues" at me or so fast that they send Airwolf
to give me a ticket.
5. I MUST read before sleeping and at meals and when
using the john. Even if I have to grab a bottle of
shampoo to do it.

There.

XD

We're in agreement on 1, 4, and 5 at least. I vary on the other two, depending on weather and my mood. I used to be much more reliable on 5, but these days I tend to make it to bed when I'm so beat that just the act of picking up the book sends me off. ;P

Something like that. Actually, on #4 they won't be sending Airwolf after me. I never drive fast.
