altivo: Commission line art colored by myself (cs-tivo-color)
[personal profile] altivo
Just a pointless post to show off the new userpic I made by coloring [livejournal.com profile] chrissawyer's flattering portrait of me. I am really happy with the results. Thanks, Chris!

Here's a slightly larger version:

Yeh, I made a point of asking Chris to include the braids. :) It's amazing how much life he can give to a drawing with just a few penstrokes.

What a cool pic!
Pretty is never pointless. (Well, almost never. But certainly isn't pointless here.)

Well, true, it isn't a unicorn. That would have a point. Ouch.

Nicely done! Handsome horsie! I may make a icon out of the one pic I did of Phantom.

Oh do, that would be fun to see again.

The talent in this one is all Chris. I just played with the airbrush.

Cool picture. I'll commission some custom art once I figure out what I look like.

I'll give you a mirror. :)

Oh, on an unrelated subject, the hackle's identity is confirmed. It's a (probably 19th century) linen hackle of the type that were used in European linen mills. The process of getting linen cloth from the stems of flax plants is so long and complicated that I have to wonder how it was ever discovered. The hackle is used right before spinning the fiber into thread that then gets woven into cloth. Unlike wool carding, which actually tries to entangle the fibers just slightly and in a consistent manner, hackling produces a stack of almost silky fibers that are all lined up in one direction and completely untangled.

That "thing" is me? No wonder I avoid mirrors.

Thanks for the update, and giving the hackle a home.

Mmm. All three look great. I've always liked Traygurr. Never saw the pegasus before, though. What's he called?

You really should draw more, these are just fine.

Thanks. I feel as if it were a picture of my soul. :)

It was nice chatting at you even a little last night, I've missed seeing you much lately.

It was an easy decision. I just looked to see who your other friends were and several of them are people I'm glad to know.

I read my friends' pages at work frequently, so I might have to drop you if you put explicit stuff, especially photos, out front without hiding it behind a cut. That wouldn't be a judgement on you, just the way things are, but otherwise, sure, glad to add you.

(Pictures of horses are fine, of course. It's pictures of raunchy stuff that I can't have on my screen at work.)

Nice drawing by Chris, as always, and very nice coloring on your part! Far better than what I could currently do. :p

Oh, you could do the coloring I'm sure. I just use the airbrush and go real slow. :)

Yes, I like the way it turned out. Wonder if I should do the entire picture in a similar style, just for the effect...
