You are bamboo.
Warm, cozy, and thoughtful, you take your time and

enjoy how things feel, smell, and taste. You

love the craft and beauty of traditional

things, and you value the comfort and

experience of knitting as much as the

results. But while you are reveling in your

warm cozies, don't get stuck. Warm is

wonderful, but so is the whole wide world!

What kind of knitting needles are you?

Hot caramel bread pudding...yummy. Actually, I own more aluminum needles than any other type, but those are inherited. I have probably purchased more bamboo and other wooden needles than any other material, though I rather like the Australian "Swallow" brand needles. They are made of milk casein, look like smoky clear plastic, and are both flexible and tough. Interestingly enough, I've never tried the plastic needles from England that are called "Pony Pearls."

Hejsan Herre Bambu!

Never have taken much notice of needles per se, they being just vital tools. Blasphemy I hear you say!

Oh no. The tools are part of what makes the experience. Aluminum needles, though they are cheap and easy to get, are cold and inflexible and I really don't care for them. A little flex in the needles is much easier on the hands, and wood or plastic don't such the warmth out of my fingers.

I'm currently knitting on a set of German double points made of rosewood, and they are really nice. Smooth, warm, pleasant to the touch, with points that are good for digging into the occasional errant stitch.

*snickers* There is nothing to figure out. Apparently LJ didn't like the fact that I used the less than and greater than symbols around what I wrote. So you are not missing anything and ignore the errors. I was just being silly. :)

Oh...I just HAD to try this one...

You are "turbo" charged.
Fast moving and classy, you get things done with

power and grace. Your expensive tastes can

be deceiving, since what you really value is

quality and efficiency. As you're careening

around those corners in life, finishing a

dozen knitted objects each month, stop and

smell the roses. Don't miss the beauty of

process!

Turbos are slick. I own a few pairs. But the description is right too, cold efficiency is their hallmark. ;D

This doesn't show the pictures. I reccomend picking up the
current issue. It was...interesting. Knitting and advanced
mathmatics and physics. Gotta love it.

Thanks for the pointer. I haven't looked at Discover since the days when I worked for Time-Life. I'll see about getting the article with the pictures.

Yup. Knitting and weaving are both highly mathematical. You can tie a tremendous amount of mathematical theory and practice into the processes and the results.
