Musical surprise
Apr. 3rd, 2006 09:36 amI'm astounded and delighted at once.
flaredragon (Flare Starfire) has composed a selection named for me.
You can find it here: The Clydesdale Librarian, Altivo.
Flare does improvisational composition at the keyboard. If you didn't already know him, keep an eye on my Clydesdale Librarian website, because I do intend to have a review of his work soon.
And thank you from the bottom of my heart, Flare. It's beautiful, and I'm touched, flattered, and embarrassed all at once. You're the first to ever give me original music.

Date: 2006-04-03 04:58 pm (UTC)And yes, I'd like to do a review on your work. By all means, update your web site so I can give folks a pointer to it. (All three who are likely to read the review, that is.)

Date: 2006-04-03 08:38 pm (UTC)I dunno. That may not be the best idea. Given an audience, I've been known to run with them.
Don't mind me, I just watched the Hallmark version of Lion in Winter, with Patrick Stewart and Glenn Close. It's one of my favorite plays, and they did it proud.
I should have been here writing away, but you have to take a break sometimes. ;)

Date: 2006-04-03 09:19 pm (UTC)In order to use it, you have to have a reader that understands it. Some e-mail programs can do that. Thunderbird does, for instance, and probably Outlook Express does too these days. So does Gmail. There are other dedicated readers too. You add the URL that points to the XML file into your subscription list, and then whenever there's an update either a notice or a copy of the actual update will appear in your mailbox. It's really pretty easy once you get it set up.

Date: 2006-04-04 04:56 am (UTC)I have two of his CDs at home and I never get tired of listening them. I will surely buy more of his CDs and I hope he will put this piece on one of them.
Every time I will listen to this song from now on, I will have in mind a Clydesdale peacefully grazing in a sunny field as the breeze softly invites the grass to dance gracefully at his feet.
Thank you kindly for having pointing this song out for us.

Date: 2006-04-04 05:10 am (UTC)Every time one of my furiends or one of my friend is visiting I put one of his CD on. And before going to Furfright this year I will phone them to see if anyone want me to buy one for them. I might even buy a couple to give as a gift.
