Simon status report
Apr. 5th, 2006 01:18 pmThanks to those who expressed good wishes for Simon's surgery. He apparently came through the operation fine and will be coming home this afternoon. The lump was just under the skin, but quite large, about the size of two eggs. Vet confirms it was a tumor and he is sending it for analysis in case it should be malignant. But he is confident he got it all and it was well-contained, so there should be no problem. Other than keeping Simon from rough-housing and messing up his stitches for a few days, that is. We are going to make him wear a t-shirt, which probably will not be popular with him. Thank goodness the weather is still cool.

But there is no publicly shareable mood icon theme, so you have to set it up yourself. Not difficult but tedious, and may require a paid account, I'm not sure. I'd really like a set of horsey mood icons. But so far, no one has come up with one.
Simon is doing very well. The hard part is he's not allowed to have any food or water until tomorrow morning. Only ice cubes. And he's not allowed to jump up on the sofa or bed for fear he'll tear the sutures. He wants to do all those things, of course. Seems quite his normal self except that he's wearing a Bike-a-thon t-shirt. He'll have to be confined in his crate when I'm not watching him to keep him from overextending. And he has to take these huge pills twice a day for two weeks. Hopefully they can be buried in peanut butter or something.
