Simon is doing fine. Except for the t-shirt and the stitches revealed when changing the shirt, he is pretty much his normal self. With any luck, the lab report will come back negative on cancer and he'll be all better in a couple of weeks.

Simon the day after Simon the day after
Recovering from surgery for a subcutaneous tumor. Pretty much his usual cheerful self, but he gets to wear a t-shirt.
Three days after Three days after
Doing fine, no problems at all apparent. He isn't moping here, he's sweeping up crumbs from his milk bone.

Well I know three dogs who had masses around that area and it was always a benign tumor.

BTW, your dog looks better with a t-shirt then he would with the big plastic funnel they often put around their neck.

Good luck. ;)

Yeah, I was expecting the Elizabethan collar and pleased when they said just put a t-shirt on him. He's happier that way too. Except when he managed to pee on himself once. That shirt was too loose. ;p

He's such a sweet tempered dog that it's really a relief to have him back OK.

Needs a MFF t-shirt. Good to see him up and around.

Actually the brown one in the top photo is even better than MFF. It reads "I survived SAMI." SAMI was Selling Areas Marketing Inc., the division of Time that I mentioned in an earlier post. But the story was that it was really named after the founder's dog, Sammi, a Samoyed. The t-shirt was given to me in 1983, the first time I resigned my job there. In less than a year they were begging me to come back, and I ultimately gave in, was back there by June of 1984 and stayed until Time relocated out of Chicago in 1988.

Thanks. I'm pretty optimistic about it. Doc says even if it is malignant, it was encapsulated and he got it all.

Hopefully the tumor is nothing to worry about now.

Thanks. In fact, today he's so much back to normal that I'm wondering if I should crate him to restrict his activity. He's jumping around with as much energy as ever, and I do want that incision to heal. Obviously it is not bothering him though, which is great.

Today he'd bounce around and lick you anywhere he could reach. He's back quite to his normal self, plus t-shirt.
