And the snow came...
Oct. 12th, 2006 09:59 amI knew it would when
vakkotaur reported he had snow in Minnesota. Just as I left the house to go to work, it hit us hard. Visibility dropped to about 50 feet during my 16 mile drive, with hard winds. There was some accumulation on grass, but the winds kept the roads clear. By the time I got to the library, it was just a light flurry. An hour later, the sun was shining.
But... I just happened to look at the radar map, and there was another green blob headed right at us. Sure enough, in less than a minute we went from sunlight to a total whiteout. Visibility was zero. That lasted ten minutes, now we're back to moderate snow with slight accumulation. I see more coming on the radar, though. Looks like a good day to stay indoors and put a fire in the woodstove. Glad I can go home at noon.
