Well, we haven't had a monsoon yet but that seems a possibility in the forecast for tomorrow. This afternoon at about 5 pm it was snowing so hard in Harvard that you couldn't see out the library windows at all. Twelve or so miles away they had sleet. Fifteen miles away it was a thunderstorm with heavy rain and violent lightning. Near there it was large hail. Leaving after closing time, we found our cars had a half inch of snow and sleet on all surfaces, overlaid by a thin crust of freezing rain. Gusty winds were blowing snow and sleet across the roads creating visibility hazards in some places, and drifts in others. I passed through two large areas of drifting on the way home where the snow/sleet on the road was five or six inches deep. Without warning, you suddenly encounter those. I didn't see anyone off the road in the ditch, but I'll bet some are there by now.
