Can't... stay... awake...
Gods I'm glad it's the weekend, though there's a million things I need to do. At the moment all I want to do is sleep, and that makes it hard to accomplish much.
Sudden cooldown in the weather isn't helping either. Makes me want to hibernate.
I really have spinning and weaving to do, as well as gardening. Can't do the gardening this time of day, but I could do the other only I can't keep my eyes open. I really am a daylight critter.
With two staff retiring at the library, and budget cuts keeping us from hiring to fill all their hours, I'll be lucky to avoid being called on to work another evening shift. I don't know if I can handle that. It was almost impossible for me back in 1990 when I was a graduate student, and now I really doubt I can take that kind of schedule twisting.
Looking at the work schedules with the director this afternoon, I really don't see much option other than to cut the number of hours we are open. This isn't likely to set well with the boards, but I don't see much in the way of alternatives. Losing just four hours out of the week, likely on a weekday morning, would make a big difference. As it stands, if anyone got sick we'd be in a serious bind. It's not my call, and probably that's just as well. I will have to resist any swing shifts or scheduling, though. I can't handle it.
