Brrrrr!

Down to about 3°F and still dropping. Not even midnight yet, and certainly not February when I expect stuff like this.

Came home to find a cute little plush bear in a nightshirt sitting on my placemat in the dining room. We went out for dinner to a local western-themed establishment (old saddles, guns, and movie posters) that sends us cards for a free dinner on our birthdays. They've acquired a name chef since our last visit, and he even came out to check that people found their meal acceptable. It was quite nice, especially for free, thank you.

On F4L, where I've never been very active, for some reason this year I'm flooded with birthday greetings from complete strangers. OK, thanks for the thoughts everyone.

On the work front we are asked to consider making sample dioramas for some sort of competition, to feature "peeps" in a book of our choice. I'm wondering about Peepenstein by Mary Shelley, Or perhaps Moby Peep by Herman Melville. Briefly thought about War and Peeps by Tolstoy but it would require a huge setting and hundreds of peeps. Hairy Peeper and the Chamber of Secrets? Or perhaps Crime and Peepishness by Dostoevsky? How about Great Expeeptations? Call of the Peeps? The Adventures of Huckleberry Peep? Or maybe The Great Peepsby?

Oh, and we also got around to stuffing five pounds of experimental hot Italian sausage. I think it had too much garlic and maybe not enough fennel but that's just from the smell which could be deceiving. Next experiment, Mexican chorizo I think.
