Down to about 3°F and still dropping. Not even midnight yet, and certainly not February when I expect stuff like this.

Came home to find a cute little plush bear in a nightshirt sitting on my placemat in the dining room. We went out for dinner to a local western-themed establishment (old saddles, guns, and movie posters) that sends us cards for a free dinner on our birthdays. They've acquired a name chef since our last visit, and he even came out to check that people found their meal acceptable. It was quite nice, especially for free, thank you.

On F4L, where I've never been very active, for some reason this year I'm flooded with birthday greetings from complete strangers. OK, thanks for the thoughts everyone.

On the work front we are asked to consider making sample dioramas for some sort of competition, to feature "peeps" in a book of our choice. I'm wondering about Peepenstein by Mary Shelley, Or perhaps Moby Peep by Herman Melville. Briefly thought about War and Peeps by Tolstoy but it would require a huge setting and hundreds of peeps. Hairy Peeper and the Chamber of Secrets? Or perhaps Crime and Peepishness by Dostoevsky? How about Great Expeeptations? Call of the Peeps? The Adventures of Huckleberry Peep? Or maybe The Great Peepsby?

Oh, and we also got around to stuffing five pounds of experimental hot Italian sausage. I think it had too much garlic and maybe not enough fennel but that's just from the smell which could be deceiving. Next experiment, Mexican chorizo I think.

Moby Peep was my favorite, though I like the idea of Tolstoy with hundreds of peeps.

p.s.: Happy birthday!

Call of the Peeps could produce an interesting sledding scene... :-)

And, happy birthdays too! ^^

*nods* That should make nice little fluffywuffies. They'll need tails too, though I'm not sure if anyone would notice, considering the scale and material. :-)

I'm not following you here. Looks like a word or maybe even just a letter or two missing.

Did you have a steak? I'm guessing not. ^.~

*grins* Oh and their can never be too much garlic. :P I'm biased though and I'm pretty sure we consume far more than your average couple.

Oh and belated happy birthday old horse older than me horse. :D

I was just teasing you about steak since you don't seem to be a big red meat eater. Personally I rarely order steak out unless someone else is buying. The markup on that stuff is just outrageous.

Sounds to me like this is the sort of place that serves a little bit of everything. Generally speaking, at those sorts of places I will just stick with something simple like a burger or maybe country fried steak. Call me odd but I go to mexican restaurants for mexican and seafood places for seafood. I figure a place that serves a bit of everything may not always be the best at things like that but you never know either. :D
