Only four months to MFF.

Here's the to-do list:
  1. Make hotel reservation. First attempt failed when they claimed they had no record of the event or special rate. Grrr.
  2. Decide now whether to propose panels. Two for consideration: Furry literature, and Amateur radio.
  3. Finish up planned changes to 'Tivo's fursuit.
  4. Get some contact lenses for fursuiting.
  5. Decide on level of participation in Dan Keller's proposed furry special event amateur station during the con, and therefore what equipment to bring.

Not such a terribly long list, actually. :)

If you continue to have problems making your hotel reservations, do please drop a line to hotel@furfest.org - that goes to the Hotel Liaison, who happens to be my husband, [livejournal.com profile] takaza :-) He will be quite happy to beat them about the head and shoulders until they get things right.

I would also suggest to you and to anyone else who reads this to make your hotel reservations NOW. The hotel is filling up much faster than it has in past years, and it's not a question of if but when we will sell out the hotel.

Thanks, Duncan. I do intend to call them again today. If I get the same runaround I'll definitely let Takaza know.

Dear Rider,

Make sure there is room for an inflatable flap-pony and maybe a black bear too.

Or we can just go the one day and spend the night at Bear's parents. What do you think? Of course we will pay our way.

I've been assuming you would share the room. The hotel charged nothing extra for two or three instead of one in the room last year, so you're good to go. We had two large double beds so space was not an issue.

I'd be getting the room anyway, so you only need to worry about the con registration and meals.

Just for closure on this, I called this afternoon and got my reservation, the correct rate, and no problems. Confirmation arrived by e-mail a few minutes later. Whatever the thing was I ran into last week, it didn't happen again.

I'd like to go, but i have too many other trips planned for the end of this year... But I do think I'll make MFF one of my priorities for 2007. It's be great to meet some of you western-but-not-overly-so folk.

Other than the transportation costs, MFF is a real bargain. Registration and hotel costs are less than most others I've looked at, and you get a lot of stuff. Lots of panels and meetings as well as the usual entertainment events and the fursuiting things. Good art show and artist's alley too. :) Do plan on it as soon as you can manage it.
