Well, it's a meme but it's better than subjecting you to a rant about the stupid waste of time that was my day today. I'll save that for my boss.

From cute [livejournal.com profile] woodychitwn:

Lifestyler

You scored 64% Furriness!

The fandom is more than just a hobby for you, it's a definitive part of your life. In fact, I'm willing to bet that you have a collection of furry art on your computer, a mountain of plushies somewhere in your house, and a fursuit or two stashed up in your closet.

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 0% on Furriness

Apparently my enjoyment of the "sexier" aspects of the fandom merits me 71% and the "Yiff" title. Whee. Not surprising, though :)

...though I'm more into the art thing than fursuiting, which I think should get extra points ;)

That might account for the slightly higher score. Overall, I think this quiz writer is being facetious, but did really emphasize the yiff thing over other aspects, even fursuiting. I score high on fursuiting and art interest, but I'm only tolerant of yiff rather than a participant. I chose all the "So what?" answers or the "I don't care what others do but I don't want to get my fursuit dirty" answers on that stuff.

I figured that's where the differences were. I actually answered that last one the same way - no furpiles for me, should I acutally get a fursuit ;) I actually would like one, but only sort-of - I have a design in mind, but haven't had the time myself or the money to have it made for me.

Anyway, the facetiousness was certainly there - it was a funny test :)

Of course I might make furpile exceptions for some people. Only ones I know well, of course. ;D

Well, ya - but for me, that's true fursuit or no ;)

Thanks. Looks like "freezeless" is the key word I was missing, instead of "frost free".

Doing all that with PVC is just as much or more work than dealing with the hoses is. If a hose gets frozen, the cost is relatively low. If PVC got frozen, finding and repairing the damage would be more work than it is for hose, I think. The line also has to cross n intermittent creek. Putting it under that would be very tough. Running it over the top on a long board is easy with hose, but would leave PVC exposed too much.

Aw - I was a-waiting for the right royal rant of your 'training' day.

I seem to remember too many of these across the board training days in corporate life. Jargonese would contain phrases such as 'sharing best practices', 'team-working', 'morale boosting'.

Spit!

Oh, those

That kind of "training" is so bad I simply refuse it. Fortunately, I have so many years of experience that I can get away with saying "No."

This was training provided by a software vendor, ostensibly on the use of their product. There are some major issues with that. It is too early in the implementation cycle for the training to take place. Exactly how the software is to be used hasn't been decided yet. The people being subjected to the "training" came from too many different levels and didn't even speak the same language with respect to the goals to be accomplished or the means by which they are accomplished. Administrators were present who were having fits about the security (or lack thereof) and how the software would let people do things they didn't want to allow. The instructor knew procedures for using the product by rote, but was underqualified on theory and knew nothing of our particular applications. It was mayhem and madness, little was achieved.

Was there an upside on the knitting front?

Well, I got a bunch of knitting done. I'm waiting with some amusement to see how long it takes for a complaint to reach my boss about how I "insulted the instructor" by knitting in class, or "wasn't paying attention."

I'm not worried about it, just curious. In fact, I remarked to her on Monday or Tuesday that it was going to be a waste of time, and she said "I know. Take your knitting. That's what I did last time." ;p
