Slow but still busy
Jul. 25th, 2009 08:15 pmHome alone all day, since Gary had two prior engagements to keep. I managed to do the grocery shopping and animal care, but feel more as if I had unloaded a hundred bales of hay all by myself. Guess this thing isn't over yet. Other than the easy tiring, though, the symptoms have grown no worse. Slight cough, slightly runny nose and eyes, somewhat sore throat. No fever so I conclude it is neither flu nor strep. Not allergy alone because the sore throat and easy exhaustion are not among my usual allergy symptoms. So, some kind of virus, probably. Hopefully it will run its course and depart.
Half an inch of slow rain last night was welcome to the garden and raised hot frame I'm sure. If it doesn't rain again tonight, though, the benefit will be gone by tomorrow.
Tess went out this afternoon, and came back in willingly when it was time. I think the bugs were biting.
After several abortive attempts at following poorly written instructions, I have finally succeeded in producing a double spiral of nålbinding. It's quite attractive stuff, really, though the need to splice the yarn every yard or so is an unavoidable nuisance. I have an idea for a real project already, using materials I have on hand to spin a custom yarn for the purpose.
Hopelessly sleepy already, but if I go to sleep now, I'll be up again in the middle of the night I'm sure.
