I do enjoy this time of year, when I have time to look around. Not much color this time, because it was too wet late in the summer I suspect. But the leaves are dropping quickly now, and the air in the evening is filled with the scent of woodsmoke from stoves and fireplaces. It was a clear, blue day today, and now that Wednesday (ugh) is nearly over I'm looking forward to seeing the stars as I head home.

No exceptional frustrations to complain about today, for a change. Just the usual things I've gotten accustomed to facing. So... Home, dinner, ply up some ramie I've been spinning, and that should finish the day nicely.

Autum is my favorite season.
Even thought my sister has taken it upon herself to tell me how I am supposed to dispose of the leaves.
Apparently, mulching them with the mower isn't good enough. They must be raked and bagged.
What used to just happen, in my routine clean up, now must be ochestrated with her.
She has her own leaves to rake, yet mine concern her. I vow never to behave like that.

I assume you've seen that conversation between God and St. Francis about the Suburbanites and their lawns? How they pay money to grow grass, then pay money to cut it down, and pay more money to throw it away? Pay money to throw away they leaves and then pay more money for mulch to do the job the leaves were intended to do by God? And the mulch is made by cutting down trees and grinding them up? And God says "Enough! I don't want to think about it any more."

Mulching the leaves with the mower is excellent. Keep it up. Raking and blowing leaves are by far the stupidest activities invented by man and serve no useful purpose whatsoever.

Autumn is easily my favourite season. Its not too hot or cold for discomfort, and the air is always clear. Bonfire night, and Haloween are also around the corner. So much cool stuff happens in Autumn.

I agree, I love autumn. Cozy, warm bread smell, cider, leaves, not
to hot or cold (usually).

Lets cancel Christmas and make Thanksgiving HUGE.

^_^

Autumn here is well...considering all the evergreens just like spring in reverse.
