Bizarre weather. We've been having a warm and sunny period that was very pleasant, but it turned winter today as the temperature dropped and is headed below freezing. Light drizzle at noon turned into heavy rain and then strong thunderstorms before sunset. The weather forecast went from hazardous weather statement to a winter weather advisory, and now we've got a 70% chance of snow overnight, though they still say only a half inch or so will accumulate. It will probably be very wet and slushy if it does happen.
My friend and colleague Gail at the Rockford office found my denim jacket and is sending it back to me, which is good because I don't know now when I'll be out there again. The various accounts of Thursday's absurd meeting that reached my boss have convinced her (as I've been convinced for a long time now) that the entire leadership in the consortium is questionable and directionless. She pretty much agrees with me that we are going to have to go it on our own, though she's not as ready as I am to just drop out of the online group and find some other solution. She wants to let it ride for a year. Given the mess they've created, I don't expect things to really change much, so I can live with that. The status quo is workable if rather ex officio.
MFF and NaNoWriMo are more on my mind at the moment, and will continue that way for the rest of this month anyway.

Date: 2006-11-13 01:33 am (UTC)Fortunately it has been found and I should get it back tomorrow. I like a hooded jacket because I never wear hats. I like big pockets that things don't fall out of. I prefer a zipper over buttons, and I like a short cut so that I can reach my jeans pockets as well (or wear my tail with it.) This one meets all those qualifications, plus it is blue, my favorite color, and one of the plastic knobs on the drawcord of the hood has been chewed by my horse and reminds me of her all the time. Just a silly attachment to a piece of clothing. ;p
