Quaker Smarty-Pants

You scored 84 in QuakerKnowledge!

You are either a Quaker, you know one personally, or you're just a good guesser. Either way, give yourself a pat on the back - you deserve it.

I don't need to tell you that the answer to the "Who is not a Quaker" question was "John Lennon," since you probably already knew that.

To learn even more about the Quakers, check 'em out on Wikipedia:

And, if you have any suggestions for more questions for this test, send them my way.

Thanks for taking the Quaker Knowledge Test!

Aww, thanks. I'm getting too old to celebrate these, but it's definitely a warm fuzzy to know someone is thinking of it. :)

There appears to be a closing tag missing from your entry, half of it appears at the top of the Friends page.

Sorry. It must interact badly with some styles and not others. I couldn't see what was missing, but it's behind a cut now, hopefully that should take care of it.

Hey happy birthday :) Although being close to Christmas can be a curse.

Did you get/do anything nice?

What the hell is a Quaker? o.O I've heard of the brand name, *goes to do the quiz*

Religious group that started in England in the 1600s. Characterized by their rejection of the hierarchical structure of the Church of England and organization into "meetings" that largely made their own rules. Generally a much looser kind of Christianity than is typical either of that time or of today. Known in modern times for their pacifism, they refuse military service demands from any government, and engage in antiwar and peace work. One of the first modern Christian groups to recognize gay unions in some areas. Dedicated to the principle that god does not rule by law but by love, and that love takes priority over law. :)

As far as religions go that doesn't sound too bad.

A question about your LJ, it doesn't have that universal log in at the top I notice. Why is that?

Yes, overall, the Quakers are pretty respectable folks. They don't push their beliefs at others, they do try to live up to their standards, and they believe in tolerance and freedom for everyone. Quakers were highly respected for their honest business dealings and contracts because fairness and honesty were given major importance in their religious ethic.

As for my LJ, I'm not sure what you mean by "universal log in". The navigation bar? That's optional. I have it turned off for my journal because some people don't like it so why push it at them. But I have it turned on for myself, because I do use it. So everyone's journal has it for me, when I'm logged in, even if they have turned it off. If you aren't logged in, though, obviously you'd see it only on journals that are pushing it at everyone.

Well, the real day is tomorrow here, but thanks. I only have to work a half day, and my mate is planning to take me out for dinner.

Apprently, Rider.

You do not have time to ride me any more and I am so in love with a certain mule I am having serious problems sleeping at night. Jake is mine and so is Kate. Sorry but our story has just begun. What happens when she sees a stallion who truly IS the one she has dreamed about all her life, who loves you and Jake so much he will give his life to you?

It's true, I have not had time to sit at the computer except for doing tons of work. And I miss you. Jake wants Chrysios too.

Kate's story is really something I haven't thought about very much. I don't know all of it, though I suppose she would tell it to me if I started writing it. She's important in Jake's story, but only up to a point. The tale I told was about Jake and Chrysios. Dent, Scarlett, Kate, Daisy, and Linette are just along for the ride, so to speak. I want to know more about the teachers too. All of them are interesting to me.

As they always say, a writer should write what he knows. I know Jake. To some degree, I know Chrysios. I understand Dent and Scarlett because they are kids I've known and watched through Jake's eyes. Daisy is the dog I always wanted. Kate is in some ways my own mother, though she isn't yet as multidimensional as the real one.
