Now look what you've done...
Mar. 10th, 2007 08:30 pmWe're melting. What a world!
Mere days after subzero temperatures and snowpack nearly a foot deep after compression, water is rushing down the creek in torrents both day and night. The sun was shining all day yesterday and today, though last night was foggy from all the warm air meeting the snow on the ground. Mud is emerging, sometimes in inconvenient places.
Went to spinning guild meeting this morning, empty handed. I did no work, just sat and chatted for about three hours. It was nice. However, this time I didn't escape the shop without buying something. The last three trips I was very good, but today I bought an 8 ounce bump of roving, blended wool and mohair, dyed in tans and rose shades. There has been a mountain of these in many colors sitting by the door for several months, and I kept looking at them and resisting. Now the mountain has shrunken, and I decided it might be my last chance. As if I didn't have plenty of spinning material here already, but the colors are so pretty...
Gary had a performance tonight, so I was left to do chores alone (not hard now that things have warmed up) and eat a solitary supper. Well, solitary except for the begging dogs who had already been fed not ten minutes earlier. I should be spinning or weaving now, but I think I'm going to read and then go to bed. Still feeling some effects of that darned cold.

Date: 2007-03-11 05:16 pm (UTC)Reading about your trip to the guild I have to admit
that when I'm in a ginormous store like Target or
Walmart, the part of the store that is actually
pleasant is the area with the crafts in it and
the yarn. I'm not going to start spinning, its
just not my thing, but your craft posts have
got me thinking.
Maybe I should go to Office Max and get those
pencils.
