Wednesday is over, the slush storm is over (we did get another couple of inches overnight.) It's amazing how much difference a few miles can make. Here at home, most of the stuff is melted now and we have puddles as if there had been a heavy rain. In Harvard, just 15 miles north of here, there is still six or seven inches of wet snow on the ground everywhere. Obviously, they got a lot more there than we did here.

It was a quiet afternoon in Lake Wobegon, thank goodness. Gary's gone to his mom's in Chicago, and I'm here alone tonight. Everyone's fed and bedded down, and I have nothing pressing to do at all. Well, I should be ironing shirts or something but I'm not gonna do it. I'm going to read a book.

This is my personal vision of Heavan.

*after he dies they take him to a farm somewhere and
give him books a fire and some canned goods. He
sighs happily*

Books yes. Lots and lots and lots. Like the library in the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast, or the one in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Technically we shouldn't need canned goods once we're dead, though I might put in for a well-stocked wine cellar, eh?

One might hope that the library will also include a piano or at least a harpsichord that always stays in tune. XD

Actually your right about the canned goods.

Doh!

But for music? I want a Moog III so I can
spend a long time doing patchcord stuff
in between bits of:

I've always thought the afterlife is a gentle
watching. A contented bit of Koyannisqatsii
where you are allowed to disconnect from
the motions of your fellow bits of carbon,
and are allowed to just...watch.

Yeah, thats me, I don't get much of that
in my rl so I idealize it. XD
