No, not like that. I skipped the guild meeting today. Gary's in Chicago for a musical event, and I had to do all the chores myself. That's my excuse.

Actually, I had a lovely day. Quiet. I did go to the grocery, but early, right after he left. And that was it. I spent time writing and reading. Did the requisite chores of course, and ran some laundry while doing them. And cooked up a pot of bean soup with about eight different kinds of beans in it, thinking we'd have that for supper with salad and fresh biscuits. But he called to say he was staying the night at his mom's and would be home in the morning. So fine. I had supper alone and there's lots of leftovers.

Other than that, reading and writing have taken up the day. There's other stuff I should be doing, but I'm not going to for now. I need a break and I'm taking it.

Nah. No problem. Two reasons for that. If you eat beans often, then you digest them better; and also, if you soak the beans then discard the soaking water and cook them in fresh, you remove something that promotes the gas. I seem to recall that it's polysaccharides, but don't use me as the reference for that.

The guild was the spinner's guild, the one I do the newsletter for. I skipped the monthly meeting because it's largely an enjoyable social event that I waste 5 or 6 hours on and I wanted to waste that time on other things. Hence the "being naughty" reference. ;p
